Alex Sandro has agreed terms with Manchester United according to Duncan Castles

Manchester United have reportedly agreed terms with Alex Sandro and the player is up for leaving Juventus for the Theatre of Dreams according to journalist Duncan Castles on his latest podcast. It was suggested that the asking price of the Italian club was the reason why United had stepped back from a prospective deal, which could still be the main problem with a €60 million fee for the Brazilian mooted.

It has also been suggested that Jose Mourinho was keen to hang onto Luke Shaw this summer amid reports of him leaving the Old Trafford club. Shaw was recently pictured in Ibiza looking overweight but reports have materialised on Tuesday confirming the player was on Dubai on pre-season looking to get fit before he returns to the Aon training complex ahead of the pre-season tour of the United States of America later this month. You can hear Castles podcast below, around the eight-minute mark.

United have already signed three players this summer with Diogo Dalot, Fred, and Lee Grant bolstering the squad this summer. It is expected that Mourinho will still be seeking a dominant central defender and a forward, hopefully in the right-wing capacity (for those who think this is political, yes things have been said, this is a position on the football pitch). The 27-year-old Brazilian would be a good signing for United. Not only would it add competition for Shaw, if he is staying, but it will give him some guidance if Mourinho wants him around for the long-term.

It has been reported in Spain that Juventus are seeking to do a deal with Barcelona for French full-back Lucas Digne this summer, possibly as a replacement for Sandro, so if those reports are credible, which some reports from Spain tend not to be, the Italian club could be preparing for life after the Brazilian at the club. There are even reports suggesting Juventus were interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer as he still seems determined to leave Real Madrid. There could be some big changes in Turin.

On Twitter, there are some people suggesting that United have tapped up the player based on the report from Castles. You know the sort, the fan who literally knows everything and wants to suggest that United be blocked from making any transfers because of this supposed tapping up. Could it be tapping up? Would United do that in this day and age. Could United have been given permission to speak to Sandro this summer? These are the facts we don’t actually know, but the try hards on Twitter know everything, I guess.
