Brazilian midfielder reiterates desire to work with Jose Mourinho

Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca has once again reiterated his desire to work with Jose Mourinho also ending speculation with him comments which merely confirm that Manchester United have not come calling for the player. Over the past few weeks, there was speculation that United had been in advanced talks with the attacking player who was on loan with Turkish side Besiktas last season and has a deal to remain at the club for the upcoming season. Reports originally from Turkey seemed to get Besiktas to react by moaning about United, despite it being media speculation. Talisca will remain at Besiktas this coming season which was something which was suggested by the Turkish club.

The 23-year-old caught the eye last season by scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances in the Süper Lig and it has been reported that the player could make a permanent move from Benfica this summer with a fee of around £15 million, which seems a bit cheap for a talented player leaving the Portuguese club. Talisca has spoken to Futbolarena reiterating his desire to work with Mourinho which other players have said in the past, not actually working with him. The player did say that everyone would know if he had received an offer from Mourinho or United, which does not seem the be the case in this instance. The player said:

“I have a lot of respect for Jose Mourinho, he is an amazing manager and I have always said I would love to work with Mourinho. I do not want to get into this debate about an offer being made or not; let’s just say if I were to receive that kind of offer you would all know about it.”

Talisca joined Benfica for just £4.15 million in 2014 and has experience playing in both the Portuguese and Turkish leagues as well as playing in the UEFA Champions League with both clubs, which could be a deciding factor by any club who wants to acquire him this summer, if he does not actually play for Besiktas on loan into next season, which seems to be the agreement the Turkish giants feel they have at this present time. Besiktas official Metin Albayrak claimed last month that the club would need to be informed of any potential deal involving Talisca with that not happening so Albayrak suggested the speculation was merely that, something the player seems to have confirmed himself with his own comments. Speaking to Turkish-Football, Albayrak said:

“We have to be informed of any transfers, it cannot go ahead without us at the table, we have not been informed of a Man United deal.”

Manchester United still take other players to be linked to this summer, which is surprising as since early April names have been thrown out in the media suggesting a deal with the Old Trafford club was coming, which seeming is not. United are said to be moving on with a deal to sign Alvaro Morata, which seems to be taking a lot of time, despite the player still being on his honeymoon. Ivan Perisic is another player on the list of Mourinho’s targets, but Inter Milan want £48 million for the player, which for a 28-year-old seems a lot. Nemanja Matic is another player tipped to move north to Old Trafford, but Chelsea are understood to want to sign a replacement first with AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko tipped to arrive in the capital.
