Capital One Cup – Second Round Draw

Manchester United found themselves in the second round of the Capital One Cup this season after normally featuring in round three of the competition, which is based on final league position. United finished seventh last season, which was their lowest ever finish in the Barclays Premier League. Over the past few seasons, United have mostly been drawn against Premier League opposition in the League Cup and also the FA Cup and many will be hoping for an away match where there will be a large allocation. United were drawn against………..

Here is the draw in full:

Manchester United face an away trip to Milton Keynes where they will face MK Dons at the Stadium MK. The match will be played week commencing Monday 25th August 2014. The two teams will decide the date of the fixture, subject to being broadcast live on television and an announcement will be made in due course. I am sure Louis van Gaal, who will have his eye on the Barclays Premier League with the Capital One Cup tie being played between two away matches; Sunderland on the 24th August and Burnley on the 30th August. Perhaps this will be a match for a side containing fringe players, maybe new signings who need to step up their match fitness, but I am dreaming a little there!
