Manchester United transfer target Arturo Vidal conducted a short interview in his native Chile during the half time break between Colo Colo and Olimpia which was broadcast on Chilean television station Chilevision. The Juventus and Chile midfielder, who is currently on holiday after featuring in the FIFA World Cup this summer, was asked about the constant speculation linking him to the Theatre of Dreams this summer. The midfielder answered the questions, which may leave a slight happy feeling for many United supporters all over the world as he did not end the speculation. Here is what was said according to La Tercera:
“I’ve heard the rumours, but I haven’t spoken anymore about this topic. I’m enjoying my holidays, and when I return to Italy I’ll see what happens. I’m very calm, and anyone would love to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
Looking further into this, a couple of Twitter users looking into this a little bit further. Jonas Giæver and Renato talk about the interview a little bit more and go into what was actually said. The Chilean midfielder also said:
“I’m relaxing and enjoying my vacation with my family and friends. And I’m hoping some days rest will help my knee get back to normal.”
The Juventus midfielder was asked if he wanted to play in England, he said:
“[Laughs] Of course! Because any player would love to play for one of the biggest teams in the world.”
Those words seem to tell every Manchester United supporter that the Chilean midfielder would be open to a move this summer. Obviously he doesn’t indicate that this team is Manchester United, but with the Old Trafford club being one of the most linked clubs for the players future, it has to be, right?

I do not know when Arturo Vidal will head back to Italy this summer, but it must be soon. Chile were knocked out of the FIFA World Cup at the hands of Brazil just over a fortnight ago and with players that played in the tournament this summer returning to training this week [Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck, David De Gea and Juan Mata], it must be within the next week when the Chilean midfielder returns to his current club. In the early hours of Sunday morning, Spanish reports suggested that a €40 million (£32 million) deal taking Vidal to Old Trafford this summer was complete. These reports are yet to be substantiated and are based on reports by La Tercera late last week. Quite what happens next is yet to be revealed, but it is looking good at this moment in time, but things can change very quickly in football.
