Confirmed Starting XI: Manchester United v Arsenal – Premier League 2017/18

Manchester United entertain Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford this afternoon – the final time Arsene Wenger will lead his team out at the Theatre of Dreams, the end of an era for Arsenal. Jose Mourinho’s side remains second in the league after Liverpool failed to score a single goal against Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday, meaning that United have a two-point cushion with two games in hand – one after today’s match.

Mourinho has confirmed that Sergio Romero is the only player to be sidelined for this match with every other player battling to be involved against the sixth-placed team in the Premier League, which will also involve impressing for a place in the Emirates FA Cup final in just under three weeks time. United have had a good season, not the season most expected but results have improved massively, especially those against the top six teams.

Manchester United and Arsenal have met 226 times in the history of both clubs. United have won 97 times, drawn 47 times with Arsenal winning 82 times. This fixture last season was a 1-1 draw with Juan Mata scoring and Olivier Giroud cancelling that out in the last minute of the match. At the Emirates last season, United lost 2-0 with Mourinho resting players who would be involved in the UEFA Europa League final. However, this season, United won 3-1 at the Emirates, a brace from Jesse Lingard after Antonio Valencia opened the scoring, Milly Rocking the way to victory.
