Confirmed Starting XI: Pogba starts as Lukaku looks to make it a century of Premier League goals

Manchester United face Swansea City in the Premier League at Old Trafford this afternoon. After an international break which saw Romelu Lukaku continue his fine goalscoring form this season, also Paul Pogba showing signs of form after his goal from a free-kick and an assist for France – it could be the time that Jose Mourinho’s side start to secure their place this season.

United have not been the best side this season but there has been some improvement. Mourinho’s side have won more matches, drawn and lost fewer matches in the league and have scored more goals, making the abject four seasons after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson a thing of the past. The quality of football has been lacking though but patience is needed from supporters.

Manchester United:

De Gea;

Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Young;

Mata, Lingard, Sanchez;

United have beaten Swansea City twice this season; 4-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League with Eric Bailly, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, and Anthony Martial scoring the goals at the Theatre of Dreams. The two sides also faced each other in the Carabao Cup at the Liberty Stadium back in October with United winning 2-0 with Jesse Lingard scoring the two goals.

Last season, in this fixture at Old Trafford, it was a 1-1 draw with Wayne Rooney scoring a penalty and Gylfi Sigurdsson equalising late on with a sublime free-kick. United have not been beaten by Swansea since the 30th August 2015, the third of three defeats in a row against the Welsh club.
