Confirmed Starting XI: Puigmal, Gomes, Chong and Burkart lead the line against City

Manchester United’s U18 face Manchester City at the City Academy in the Premier League U18 this morning. United are two points clear of City at the top of the U18 Premier League, having played two games more than City. A victory on the other side of Manchester would give Kieran McKenna’s side the bragging rights, going five points clear of their bitter neighbours. Last week, United played twice, well one match was at U19 level in the UEFA Youth League, but United beat Blackburn Rovers 4-1 in the league and were defeated 2-1 by Basel in Europe. Angel Gomes played in both matches after his FIFA U17 World Cup winning exploits, being a boost for his side, scoring twice at Blackburn and assisting in Switzerland.

Manchester United:

Laird, Barrett, O’Connor, Williams;

Garner, Barlow;

Puigmal, Gomes, Chong;

Carner, Tanner, Levitt, Baars, Bughail-Mellor

United will be seeking to continue their winning ways this season in the league, losing just once in nine matches played this season, winning six and drawing twice. City will be seeking the top spot in the league this season, so United must ensure the bitter blues do not win this fixture, which should keep them in the driving seat for the foreseeable future, which will give them the advantage, for now at least.
