Hernandez Move Could Pave Way For Vidal

Sky Sports have today cited Corriere Dello Sport on claiming the impending transfer of Javier Hernandez to Juventus could well be used as a make-weight for a deal bringing Arturo Vidal the other way. Corriere claim Hernandez has agreed personal terms with the Italian side, and they are already seeking replacements for the Chilean midfielder so sought after by United.

In a saga that has raged on all summer, it seems as though United may have made a breakthrough finally and see themselves in a rare position of power in negotiations. Vidal has been on the radar all summer in the ultimate ‘will he, won’t he’ scenario. It was all pointing towards another case of the one that got away (a la Toni Kroos) until these revelations came to light regarding the Hernandez deal. If this is the case, it will be a rare moment of shrewdness in the transfer market from Ed Woodward and a real coup if it can be done. It’s almost enough to get you excited isn’t it?

Louis van Gaal has promised players are coming in before the window closes, and if Arturo Vidal were to be one of those walking through the doors, then I think we can all agree that it would be like birthday and Christmas in one hit.

Juventus are said to be tentative about selling their midfield maestro, and have so far rejected all approaches from United for Vidal, though Corrierre believe they working behind the scenes to bring in a replacement. Adrien Rabiot (PSG) and Daniele Baselli (Atalanta) are the names being linked with a move to Juventus and if this is to be believed then surely any possible deal for Vidal will hinge upon their arrival. Should that suffer any snags, then it could also leave Javier Hernandez in some doubt over his transfer, though that is merely speculation and one would hope any deal to move on the disappointing Mexican would be completed in lieu of any other dealings between the two sides.

I will say don’t get your hopes up. Massimo Allegri has again stated that Arturo Vidal won’t be leaving the Italian champions and has stuck by this sentiment throughout the entire window. In spite of this, the fresh speculation is enough to stir the butterflies in your tummy as Louis van Gaal looks to further strengthen his ranks and deliver on his promises. The next 72 plus hours are going to be turbulent, hold on tight.
