Sky Sports have reported that Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has announced his new release clause which is €1 Billion after rumours about the Portuguese winger being unhappy at the Santiago Bernabéu and maybe a return to his old club Manchester United or even Chelsea where his former manager Jose Mourinho is currently managing.

After this hefty release clause being announced that it ends a return to the club close to his heart Manchester United after six successful seasons at Old Trafford winning; three Barclays Premier League medals, one FA cup, two League Cups, one UEFA Champions League trophy, one FIFA Club World Cup and one FA Community Shield also scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese winger has been in-form for his current club netting 13 goals in just six games this season also scoring three hat-tricks against Deportivo La Coruna, Elche and Athletic Club in the Liga BBVA. Mendes confirms the release clause by saying:

“I no longer get calls from anyone asking about Cristiano. It’s not worth them calling to ask for it.

“The price is that stated in his release clause – €1bn (£785m).

“United are in his heart and he is very respectful of people who show him affection but he is in Madrid to the end.

“I’m sure that he will beat his personal record if he does not have any physical problems.

“For Cristiano, nothing is impossible. He is going to continue evolving and improving until he is 40. When he finishes it will be impossible for anyone to beat his records.

“Notice how Cristiano is a winger, he’s not a striker, and his numbers are outrageous. He plays very far from goal and has to make significant efforts to arrive into the box. For that, he deserves even more credit for what he achieves.

”In addition to being the best footballer in history, he is the greatest athlete of all time.”
