Manchester United’s loan stars were back in action over the weekend with two out of the nine players that were in action scoring goals. Angelo Henriquez managed a stunning hat-trick for Dynamo Zagreb and Nani scoring once for Sporting. Going into the international break, only a few of the clubs loan stars will be in action during the next week or so. We will update the progress of these players accordingly before we resume to full coverage of the clubs loan players.
Here is how I feel the players fared this weekend:
Angelo Henriquez – Dynamo Zagreb
The Chilean striker scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over local rivals Lokomotiva Zagreb this weekend. Henriquez, loaned to the Croatian side for the whole of the 2014/15 season has now scored five goals for his club in the last six matches. The Chilean striker scored past the static defence to score his first goal, buried a penalty into the back of the net for his second and completed his scoring after a cheeky back-heel was sent in his direction. His performance will mean that his manager will have a dilemma selecting player for their next match. Speaking recently to the official Manchester United website, Henriquez said:
“I don’t think this was a backwards step in my career. But a good chance to play and get experience of European football.
“I have constant contact with people from Manchester United. Not Louis van Gaal, but people from the Aon Training Complex, the coaches. They want to know every detail – from the intensity of training here, diet, life in Zagreb. With that amount of care for a year, I know I’m still being followed by United.”

Next Match: West Ham – Barclays Premier League – Saturday 18th October 2014; 15:00
Tom Cleverley – Aston Villa
Tom Cleverley played 90 minutes in the unlucky 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League. Cleverley played well in the centre of midfield and managed to make Manchester City worry with some excellent football and really should have scored with some of the chances that were created. He should have scored and got an assist but he couldn’t beat inform Joe Hart and neither could his team mate.
