LOAN WATCH: Bebe scores a brace!

Manchester United’s loan players were again in action this weekend, which for some was the end of the season. Only Angelo Henriquez will be playing longer than the rest, with the Spanish Segunda Division not ended for a few more weeks yet. Nick Powell did not feature for Wigan Athletic in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs, and Will Keane was also not utilised by Queens park Rangers. Wilfried Zaha was also not given a match by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Cardiff City, who played their final Barclays Premier League match this weekend after being relegated back to the Championship from next season. Anderson was another absentee from Fiorentina’s squad, with them unlikely to keep the midfielder any longer than his loan spell. It has been a good season for the majority of United’s loanees, but for others, it now means they head back to their club to see what the future brings for them.

Here is how I feel the players fared this weekend:

Jesse Lingard – Brighton and Hove Albion

Jesse Lingard played 82 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship. He started off well in the match with scoring the first goal in the game to make it 1-0 with a stunning finish by the young United attacker. Lingard also played well throughout the game with a couple of chances that he could have scored from but the Derby County goalkeeper made some brilliant saves. The United attacker played full 90 minutes in the second leg of the  Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs. He had a couple of chances for Brighton but Derby were just so good defensively. Derby won the match 4-1, 6-2 on aggregate earning their place in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley at the end of the month.

Next Match: End of Season

Angelo Henriquez – Real Zaragoza

Angelo Henriquez played 65 minutes in the 2-1 win over Cordoba in the Segunda Division. He played well with some decent chances to equalise for his side but couldn’t beat the keeper and he also played a part in the equaliser with a great run to create the opportunity for his team mates.

Next Match: Sabadell – Segunda Division – Saturday 17th May 2014, KO 19:00

Bebe – Pacos de Ferreira

Bebe played the full 90 minutes in the 4-2 defeat to Academica in the Primeira Liga. He played well in the defeat with two great goals but he could have had more if he would have taken his chances. He had been vital to Pacos de Ferreira all season and bagging some crucial goals.

Next Match: End of Season

Marnick Vermijl – NEC Nijmegen

Marnick Vermijl was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Jupiler League Promotion/Relegation Play-Off on Friday evening. The Belgian defender did play in the second leg of the Play-Off coming off the bench to replace Danzell Gravenberch in the 50th minute of the match. NEC Nijmegen were 3-0 down at the time, 4-0 on aggregate and out of the match. Vermijl will now be looking to return to United, where he will weigh up his options with a new manager coming in and no right-back cover for Rafael da Silva, with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Antonio Valencia playing out of position she the Brazilian is injured.
