Two out of three of Manchester United’s loan stars were in action on Saturday with Javier Hernandez coming off the bench to score a brace for Real Madrid and Tom Cleverley putting in a decent midfield performance for Aston Villa in what turned out to be a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal. Michael Keane, who is on loan with Burnley did not feature in their 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
Here is how I feel the players fared on Saturday:
Javier Hernandez – Real Madrid
Javier Hernandez played 13 minutes in the 8-2 victory over Deportivo La Coruna in the Liga BBVA. Hernandez came on for Gareth Bale in the 77th minute and managed to grab two goals in the match and he showed what he used be like a couple of years ago at Manchester United. One of his goals was class as well with a nicely taken goal that was smashed into the top corner.
Next Match: Villarreal – Liga BBVA – Saturday 27th September 2014; KO 15:00
Tom Cleverley – Aston Villa
Tom Cleverley played 90 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League. Cleverley played well despite the defeat he never stopped working for his side but sadly his team were outplayed by a talented Arsenal side that grabbed three goals in six minutes. He was Aston Villa’s best player by far with the work rate he put it and should have scored but miss the target.
Next Match: Chelsea – Saturday 27th September 2014; KO 15:00
Michael Keane – Burnley
Michael Keane didn’t take any part in the 0-0 draw with Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League.
Next Match: West Brom – Sunday 28th September 2014; KO 16:00
