On Friday evening two Manchester United loanees played for their respective clubs in the Sky Bet Championship. Jesse Lingard represented Brighton & Hove Albion and Tom Lawrence represented Yeovil Town and both played against each other with the latter having been confirmed as the first team to be relegated this season in the Sky Bet Championship.
This is how I feel our players got on:
Jesse Lingard – Brighton & Hove Albion
Jesse Lingard played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Yeovil Town in the Sky Bet Championship. The England U21 international scored his third goal for Brighton since he’s joined on loan in January. Lingard played really well in the win and managed to grab a last minute goal to make it 2-0 to Brighton and confirmed Yeovil Town were relegated from the second tier in English football. The United youngster was named the Man of the Match to top off a brilliant performance.
Next Match: Nottingham Forest – Sky Bet Championship – Saturday 3rd May 2014, KO 12:15
Tom Lawrence – Yeovil Town
Tom Lawrence played 60 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Sky Bet Championship. The young United forward played well in a tight match which turned bad as the defeat confirmed relegation this season, meaning they will play in the Sky Bet League One once again next season, after being promoted last season. Lawrence really showed his class in the defeat he made so many opportunities for his team-mates when they had the chance to, but his side could not find a crucial first goal which could have prolonged their participation in the Championship, at least until their penultimate match of the season.
