Manchester United and their chances of winning the Premier League

We asked Philip Campbell on his expert opinion on Manchester United, according to him United have been struggling in the Premier League ever since legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson left the club. Nowadays controversial Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho is in charge of the club and it remains to be seen if he is going to bring glory days back to Old Trafford. The “Special One” did well to reinforce the squad in the summer transfer window, but the Red Devils will have to prove their worth on the field.

This article is brought to you by Philip Campbell an expert on Premier League predictions, his predictions can be found over at

Manchester United did remarkably well to win Europa League and League Cup trophies last season, but the English giants failed to impress in the 2016/17 Premier League campaign. The Red Devils have big ambitions for the new Premier League season and the club chiefs brought the likes of Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, and Victor Lindelof to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Belgian attacker has been scoring goals for fun at the start of the season and he is widely expected to help United improve offensively. Paul Pogba has been producing much better performances with the Red Devils ever since Nemanja Matic joined the club. The Serbian defensive midfielder should let Paul Pogba off the leash and many people believe that the former Chelsea man is the perfect Manchester United signing. Speaking of Victor Lindelof, Jose Mourinho believes that the talented defender is not yet ready for the Premier League, but, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of him.

Manchester United kicked off the new Premier League campaign in style, with the team rolling over the likes of West Ham United, Swansea City and Leicester City at the start of the season, but tough challenges have yet to come. The Red Devils were struggling in derby matches last term and they need to improve their record in games against fellow title contenders if they are to regain the domestic trophy. Manchester United look solid at the back this season and that could prove to be the key to their success in the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

Speaking of Jose Mourinho, it is well-known that “The Special One” always wins the league in his second season at helm and he is eager to maintain the second-season run of title victories. The former Chelsea boss had enough time to analyse Manchester United’s performances from the last season and, no doubt, he is capable of making amends for the unsuccessful Premier League campaign.

Aforementioned midfielder Paul Pogba has found his best form and he is likely to play the main role in Jose Mourinho’s team this season. Key defender Eric Bailly has been making progress week by week and seeing that Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan seems to be on top of his game as well, Manchester United have a good chance of winning the Premier League trophy. It has been four years since the Old Trafford club clinched their last Premier League title and I believe that the time has come for Jose Mourinho’s troops to lift the silverware.
