One more signing…

These Monday’s aren’t doing well for us are they? I don’t want to sound like a miserable git, but that’s kind of all we’re left with, of late. Shall we talk about Saturday’s game? Might as well, eh? I’ve thought about this a lot this weekend. I think there’s a confidence problem. But it’s more than that, because simple, basic skills are missing. We’ve got a crippling number of injuries. Granted. But that doesn’t excuse the inability of international footballers to pass to one another. We actually managed two-thirds of the possession in the game but a mere seven shots to Burnley’s nine. How did that team not create many clear-cut chances? The ball from Angel di Maria to Robin van Persie, that he chested down for a shot, was brilliant. I could watch that again and again. But there simply wasn’t enough of these. Maybe it’ll change with Rafael and Shaw at wing back and we’ll have players looking to get behind the opposition.

This is a fundamental flaw of having Juan Mata, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney as the forward three. They’re too slow. The number one question we had as fans when Di Maria signed was how does he fit in? There’s no denying the quality of Mata, Rooney, Van Persie  and Di Maria. But where does Ander Herrera fit into this system? It gives me a headache thinking about it. But I’m sure Mr Van Gaal knows where this is all going to come together. Daley Blind. A classy lad from Ajax. A real intelligent footballer, comfortable on the ball and defensively minded. A good addition to the squad and I think he’ll be as adept as the central of the three defenders or as the anchor man in front of them. Can’t wait to get him in. Then the big news that broke today, Radamel Falcao – what a player – seriously. I remember Bale moved to Madrid last year there was a debate about who was 3rd best player in the world and this lad’s name was in the mixer for that title. So that’s what we’re getting. But as the I’ve just been saying. How this all fits in needs some work. Coz I’ve not got a scooby!

I’ll be doing a hangout on our YouTube channel this evening. Ben and Aoife will be joining me from the MUFCLatest side and Dale from Stretty News is going to join us too, we’re going to break down the transfers in and out this window as well as anything that breaks throughout the night or while we’re on air. I’m as yet undecided whether I’ll wear a yellow tie for it. If you wanna tune in, we’ll be doing it from 10-11pm. You can view it below, LIVE from 10pm UK time.
