Paul Pogba has ‘zero intention’ of staying at Manchester United as he jets off to Los Angeles; Mino Raiola to sort out ‘dream transfer’?

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reported to have ‘zero intention’ of staying at the Old Trafford club this summer. The 26-year-old will fly to the United States of America this summer and let agent, Mino Raiola sort out a transfer to Real Madrid, considered a dream, which could cost the La Liga club £150 million.

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, is reportedly desperate to sign Pogba this summer, adding to the arrival of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, and Rodrygo. Juventus are said to be interested in re-signing Pogba and reportedly travelled to London to hold discussions in United’s offices in the capital.

Whilst Pogba is resting in Los Angeles, Raiola, who was previously banned from involving himself in transfers this summer, which was lifted on Friday, will be ready to sort out the move for the Frenchman, which in turn will line his pockets just as it did just three years ago. United, however, seem reluctant in selling their prized asset. Probably down to his marketability rather than his on-pitch performances.

Pogba has two years remaining on his United contract, with the option of a third to be added by either the player or the club, so United have a strong hand in any negotiations for Pogba this summer. However, the player is confident that Madrid’s interest could result in a move to the Spanish capital for him. Personally, if this happens, I won’t be sorry to see him leave.

Pogba is a great player but on a consistency level, it has not worked at United. He has not given his all, which should be expected of players, especially ones who are on high wages and still, to this day, brag about winning the FIFA World Cup. His performances for United have not been on par with those of France. Jose Mourinho was blamed for his poor performances and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been blamed also. Maybe it is just Pogba’s fault!

There are other reports in the media today, one which states that Pogba has told United of his transfer decision, which in line with other speculation suggests that he wants to leave the Old Trafford club for Real Madrid. United has lost many players to Real Madrid, the last high profile one was Cristiano Ronaldo. This transfer saga does not feel the same for me as United will only lose a player who has no consistency to perform for the club, not a player who was crucial in everything the club has achieved.

Another report suggests that United has earmarked Youri Tielemans to replace Pogba this summer, if a move to Madrid does progress for the Frenchman. There is no smoke without fire and it looks like Pogba has had enough of United but if you check social media, a lot of supporters have lost patience with the Frenchman. It was exciting seeing him come back to the Theatre of Dreams three years ago but looking at what he could have achieved and what he has achieved at United, it seems the club may have been shortchanged but his return.
