PICTURES: Manchester United 3-1 Liverpool – Guinness International Champions Cup Final

Manchester United played Liverpool in the Guinness International Champions Cup at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Monday evening (early Tuesday morning in the UK). Steven Gerrard put Liverpool ahead after Phil Jones gave away a penalty inside the first half of the match. Within nine minutes of the restart, Wayne Rooney equalised for United after a Javier Hernandez assist and two minutes later, Juan Mata put away for United’s second goal after a good pass from Luke Shaw. Rooney score again for United, but the goal was disallowed after the ball hit the roof of the net, and therefore was out of play. It took the linesman to disallow the goal though. Jesse Lingard scored the third goal for United after Shinji Kagawa misjudged the ball at the edge of the area. Manchester United will be taking the Guinness International Champions Cup back to Manchester and to the Liverpool supporters; this was just a meaningless friendly and doesn’t mean anything…
