According to the Mirror, David Moyes has been handed a major boost to sign the highly rated Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund. The Manchester United manager has been scouting the 24-year-old all season and watched him once again this weekend in Dortmund’s 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich, where Reus scored the second goal of the game and claimed one assist.
The Mirror are also reporting that Moyes will be handed up to £200 million to strengthen his squad this summer after a disappointing first season in charge. As I wrote earlier, Moyes has been scouting Reus all season, and it’s believed that the German winger is one of his top targets in the upcoming transfer window. The Mirror also state that Moyes’ hopes of landing the highly rated winger have been boosted after Marco’s former teammate Mario Götze said:
“When I was at Borussia, Marco wanted a move to Manchester United, this hasn’t changed.”
Reus, who has netted 19 goals in 35 games this season, is considered one of the best wingers in Europe and has also attracted interest from the Spanish giants Real Madrid, who really do not need a player like Reus, since they have players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Angel di Maria in similar positions. So, does Manchester United need a player like Marco Reus?
Yes, we do need a player like Reus. He would be a player that gives us something new and exciting in our offensive display. It’s not a secret that our wingers this season have not been performing as well as they should do, when they are playing for a club like United. Wingers like Nani, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Adnan Januzaj have only scored nine goals so far this season, which isn’t impressive at all.
Reus would be a major signing, which is something we need. And for us United fans it would mean the world if we signed the £30m rated winger. We would like technical gifted players like Reus, that could give the squad the extra boost to bring the Barclays Premier League trophy back home. If there is anything the Red Devils need, then it is a player that can bring us goals from other positions than the striker, we have not had that type of player since the wonderful Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. I believe that Reus could give us something similar to what the Portuguese magician gave us.
