Rooney returns; Lingard and Martial flank the captain against Burnley

Manchester United are back in action in the Premier League this afternoon after their UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg against Anderlecht which ran into extra time. United have travelled to Turf Moor to face Burnley. On Thursday night, Jose Mourinho lost both Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to serious knee injuries, ending the season for both players. United find themselves in fifth place in the league, needing a victory today to be just a point behind Manchester City, who United will be pitted against on Thursday evening – a very good opportunity to break into the top four, providing United beat Burnley today and City on Thursday.

Manchester United:

Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba;

Lingard, Rooney, Martial

Substitutes:

Manchester United and Burnley have played 123 matches in the history of both clubs with United winning 58 times, drawing 21 times and losing 44 times. The last defeat for United came during the 2009/10 season, losing 1-0 at Turf Moor. The last time United played at Turf Moor during the 2014/15 season, it was a 0-0 draw with Angel Di Maria making his debut that day. At Old Trafford, United have beaten Burnley more often than not, but this season it was the scene of another 0-0 draw, in which Tom Heaton became Gianluigi Buffon, with United having no less than 37 shots on goal. Today United need to be more clinical, scoring every goal they can. Come on UNITED!
