STARTING XI: Inter Milan v Manchester United – Guinness International Champions Cup

Manchester United play their third pre-season match this evening, or early morning depending on where you are watching from. It is their second match in the Guinness International Champions Cup. Both matches have been victories for Louis van Gaal’s side and the testing of a new 5-3-2 variation formation has been considered a success so far. United seem to be lining up in a 3-4-1-2 variation formation, which finds a role for Juan Mata as well as Wayne Rooney, which is good. When Robin van Persie returns to the squad, after the pre-season tour of the United States of America, it will be interesting to see what happens in terms of goal scoring ability. Here is the starting eleven and list of substitutes for the match against Inter Milan, which will also see former defender Nemanja Vidić face the Red Devils for the first time since he left the club earlier this summer.

Manchester United:

Smalling, Jones, Evans;

Valencia, Fletcher, Herrera, Young;

Rooney, Welbeck

De Gea, Amos, Johnstone; Shaw, M. Keane, Blackett, James; Cleverley, Nani, Kagawa, Zaha, Lingard; Hernandez, W. Keane
