Starting XI: Lingard, Rashford and Martial lead the line against Real Madrid

Manchester United will be pitted against reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League holders at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California in United second International Champions Cup match, their fourth match of their pre-season. The Madrid side will be playing their first match in pre-season which may put them in the same frame, fitness wise, as Manchester City who United beat 2-0 on Thursday in the United States of America, the early hours of Friday in the United Kingdom. United have won all three matches in the States this summer with LA Galaxy being beaten 5-2, Real Salt Lake were beaten 2-1 and Manchester City were beaten 2-0. Marcus Rashford has scored three goals, Romelu Lukaku and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have both scored twice with Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial scoring one goal each.

Manchester United:

Romero;

Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Jones, Darmian;

Carrick, Fellaini, A. Pereira;

Lingard, Rashford, Martial

Substitutes:

De Gea, J. Pereira; Blind, Lindelof, Mitchell, Smalling, Tuanzebe, Valencia; Herrera, McTominay, Mkhitaryan, Pogba; Lukaku

United will face Barcelona on Wednesday 26th July, 00:30 on Thursday morning in the UK. United will then head back to Europe facing Valerenga in Oslo, Sampdoria in Dublin and Real Madrid again in Macedonia, this time contesting the UEFA Super Cup. United should be ready for their Premier League opener on Sunday 13th August 2017, entertaining West Ham United at Old Trafford, after this pre-season, which is much better than last, which saw United play fewer matches, one of which was cancelled.
