Starting XI: Manchester City v Manchester United – Premier League 2 2016/17

Manchester United face Manchester City in the Manchester derby at reserve level in the Premier League 2. Both teams meet at first team level less than 24 hours later at Old Trafford in the Premier League, meaning that this match will be goo to get everyone ready for the derby on Saturday afternoon. United was narrowly beaten in this fixture at the end of last season, a season where they retained the Barclays U21 Premier League trophy, something both teams will have their eye on this season. Warren Joyce has seen many changes in his side with players heading out on loan before the closure of the summer transfer window last week, with James Weir sold to Hull City, so he will be looking for a new captain at U23 level, with Sean Goss being considered for that role. United have played three matches in the Premier league 2 this season, winning one, losing one and drawing one. Joyce’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways against their local rivals.
