Starting XI: Manchester United v Southampton – Premier League 2016/17

Manchester United face Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League this evening. Southampton, at Old Trafford at least, has been a bit of a bogey side for United with them winning their last two visits with a 1-0 scoreline. The match before that was a 1-1 draw with United not beating the South Coast side since their 2-1 victory on the 30th January 2013. United manager Jose Mourinho will be keen to end the Saint’s dominance at Old Trafford post-Sir Alex Ferguson, sealing his second victory in the league this season. United started the season well with a 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Leicester City, winning the FA Community Shield at Wembley, followed by a 3-1 victory away over Bournemouth, which is great start to the season considering matches against Leicester have resulted in three 1-1 draws and  a 5-3 defeat, and that Bournemouth beat United in their away fixture last season, which started a pretty hostile period for the club with Louis van Gaal linked with the sack last Christmas. Here are the starting XI’s and list of substitutes for both teams this evening.
