Starting XI Prediction: Alexis Sanchez to lead the line against Palace, flanked by Anthony Martial and Andreas Pereira?

Manchester United will take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, which commences a busy month for the Red Devils. Palace are winless in their last six matches, losing five times, drawing once, conceding ten goals in those matches. United are not in the best of form this season, but after three important victories ahead fo the Manchester derby, confidence is much higher than it was.

These are the matches that United need to ensure they win. Scored goals, preferably early ones and give their opposition a match they will remember. Jose Mourinho wants to ensure his side finish in the top four this season, which is something they are a long way off right now. Sitting eighth in the league, seven points adrift of fourth place, currently held by Tottenham Hotspur. Beating Palace is a must, then the UEFA Champions League takes presidence, until next weekend anyway!

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

The Spanish number one is yet to find his best form this season, after a poor FIFA World Cup for Spain, which saw him being criticised by the media in his homeland. Possibly fresh after playing just one match during the international break, De Gea could start his climb to form again. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now, despite what some say. The best do go through periods of poor form. This season, United have suffered collectively, making the goalkeeper see his blushes on more than one occasion.

Defence: Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Ashley Young

United’s defence is awful this season, despite having the same players from last season. There are too many players not deserving a place in this team, let alone a position at the club but it seems that is something we are all stuck with right now. Diogo Dalot is fit and ready to play, and he should. Eric Bailly needs to be put back into the team again, as he is one of the best defenders at the club, playing alongside Victor Lindelof, who has shown his ability in recent weeks. Luke Shaw is suspended so Ashley Young replaces him.

Midfield: Fred, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba

United have been sluggish with Nemanja Matic in defence. His experience is great but against City, the midfield was overrun and he, and his teammates were unable to deal with that. For the Palace game, a midfield three of Ander Herrera, playing the defensive role, Fred and Paul Pogba could be what United need right now to get the best out of their team. The defensive aspect could be problematic with Herrera not showing form like he did in that game against Chelsea but if you don’t take risks, you will never know…

Forwards: Andreas Pereira, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial

Goals are what United need to win matches. Lots would be great but one more than the opposition will do, as in Premier League football, it means three points in the bag. United’s forwards are having problems right now. Romelu Lukaku is not scoring goals for his club, like he should be doing, others having to fill the void, which is more than they are able to do. The right-wing is a problem and as he’s played there before, Andreas Pereira could be a solution, for now. Alexis Sanchez to lead the line, Anthony Martial on the left-wing.
