Team News: Pereira, Gribbin and Harrop start for United against Spurs

Manchester United’s U23 are back in action this evening, for the final time in the Premier league 2 season. A week ago, United earned a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates, just 24 hours after the first team were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal’s first team. The draw was enough to keep United in Division One of the Premier League 2 next season, keeping their status as a top-flight team in the youth league. Nicky Butt will have been proud of his side which dug deep to earn a draw against Arsenal, who for large spells of the match were the better team. This week, Spurs will be the opposition at Old Trafford, a match which was postponed from a few weeks ago due to the death of Spurs U23 coach Ugo Ehiogu.

Manchester United:

J. Pereira;

Olosunde, Warren, Poole, Borthwick-Jackson;

Kehinde, Willock;

Gribbin, Redmond, Harrop;

Bohui

Substitutes:

M. Johnstone, Dunne, Buffonge, Hamilton, Dearnley

Tottenham Hotspur:

Austin;

Hinds, Maghoma, Ogilvie, Brown;

Lesniak, Amos;

Shashoua, Tracey, Miller;

Harrison

Substitutes:

Should United win tonight at the Theatre of Dreams it could propel them into sixth place, which when you consider the fact this team have been playing without a striker for the whole season, is quite an accomplishment. Should Spurs win, it could see them rise to sixth place also. United currently occupy the eighth place whilst Spurs sit in tenth ahead of the match. Every other team has played 22 matches, so this will complete the Premier League 2 for its inaugural season which has seen Everton lift the trophy.
