MUFCLatest.com was launched back in July 2012 and has quickly become one of the best independent supporter run websites covering Manchester United. The past season has seen some of the worst football many of us have seen for a long time, which affected the levels of interest for many of the clubs supporters. This summer, we are looking to bring in talented writers who want to show the world what they can do in a bid to either satisfy their hobby or even test the water in the field of journalism. We give up-and-coming writers the chance to show hundreds of thousands of Manchester United supporters what they are capable of, which could lead to much bigger and better things. All writers are voluntary, we are unable to pay our writers as we literally make enough money to keep the website running by covering annual subscriptions and hosting fees. We are able to give prospective writers a taste of journalism and a platform for supporters to read their articles.
We are looking for writers to assist in covering everything Manchester United. We currently cover news, transfer news, opinion pieces and match content for the first team, U23’s and U18’s. We would like to cover more, becoming a one stop shop for all Manchester United supporters who have an interest in the club. We are looking for writers who have literally just started writing, to those who have been writing for a long time. We can help you become a better writer allowing you to see whether you would want to head into the world of journalism. We cannot help you with training, that would be down to you, but you can attain valuable experience by writing for us. All writers will be handed a trial period, during which they will be expected to follow our editorial standards. All writers will be given the chance to earn a place in our main writing team, of which many do. You will need to be an English speaker, we only publish articles in English and that will not be changing.
You will be asked for some information about yourself in the application form below. It will be down to you to show us why we should bring you into our team, even for a trial. You will be given a choice of areas in which you would like to cover. Your first choice may not be available, hence the reason you will be choosing other categories too. You will need to include a sample of your writing within your application, which will need to be about Manchester United, or at least in the football genre. If accepted, you will be tasked to complete your first article with the aim being for it to be published. A deadline will be issued and you will need to think about your topic, which will need to be accepted by the site editor (we have many writers covering many different things, so we need to ensure no two people are writing anything similar). You will then need to research and structure your article before writing, then submitting it before the deadline.
You will need to have your own Facebook account, the website is run from private groups within Facebook which allow us to keep in contact with our writers easily. If you do not have access to Facebook, you will not be accepted into the team. You will also need to have your own Twitter account, which you will need to state in your application.
Written articles will need to be original, free of profanity and all claims, quotes and statistics will need to be attributed to a credible online source. There is an age limit to write for MUFCLatest.com, you will need to be 16 or over. There is no maximum age. All we ask is that you are willing to take your chance and strive to earn your place in our writing team. Here is your chance to get yourself started in the world of journalism, or even get that hobby you always wanted to do, off the ground. Please fill in the following form, telling us a little about yourself, what areas you are looking to write about and why you want to write for MUFCLatest.com.
Please allow 24 hours before contacting us again regarding your application. If you have not heard from us within that time, you have been unsuccessful on this occasion. We will give feedback to writers who have not been successful. We wish you all the best of luck with your application.
