Starting XI: Feyenoord v Manchester United – UEFA Europa League 2016/17

Manchester United face Feyenoord in Rotterdam in the first group stage match of the UEFA Europa League this evening. Last season, United started in the UEFA Champions League, sharing a group with Feyenoord’s rivals PSV Eindhoven. United’s first match in the elite European competition was away to PSV, a year to the day. United lost 2-1, also losing Luke Shaw for the remainder of the season due to a double leg fracture. United drew the home match 0-0, exiting the Champions League at the group stage, falling into the Europa League. United beat Midtjylland, albeit on aggregate after losing the away match 2-1, willing 5-1 at home, then falling to Liverpool in the round of 16, exiting the competition at the same stage they exited the competition during the 2011/12 season under Sir Alex Ferguson at the hands of Athletic Bilbao.
