Confirmed Starting XI: Manchester United v Liverpool – International Champions Cup

MacFinder

Manchester United face Liverpool in their second match of the International Champions Cup at the Michigan Stadium, also called the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The last time United played in this stadium, it was against Real Madrid with more than 100,000 supporters in the stadium and Real Madrid photoshopping the image to make it look like the supporters were supporting them but it was more like a sea of red.

Matches against Liverpool, even if they are a pre-season friendly such as this one, tend not to be too friendly. If Liverpool win the match, their supporters will crow on for months about how they beat United, no matter the squad which played in the match but if they lost, it would just be a pointless friendly which none of the care about. I guess when you have a pretty pathetic fan base, that is what happens.

Manchester United:

Grant;

Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Mitchell;

McTominay, Herrera, A. Pereira;

Mata, Sanchez

Substitutes:

J. Pereira; Shaw, Williams; Chong, Fred, Garner, Gomes, Hamilton; Greenwood

Jurgen Klopp stated two years ago about how he wanted to do things so much differently after Jose Mourinho spent £89 million on Paul Pogba. However, after spending £75 million on Virgil van Dijk and £67 million on goalkeeper Alisson, it just goes to show that is was nothing but jealousy from the passionate German manager, who has lost six cup finals in a row. Bless them.
