Manchester United will go head to head with Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League this afternoon. It will be the second time the two sides have faced each other this season, the first was a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Boxing Day. Burnley will be looking to frustrate United, as they seem to do for much of the time they play. Jose Mourinho has three players out due to injury; Daley Blind, Eric Bailly, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It was a day where many expected a certain Chilean, Alexis Sanchez to make his debut for the Red Devils, but so far, the move has not yet been completed. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not going to be involved in the match, according to Mourinho’s comments in his press conference on Friday, so he could have played his last game for United, seemingly heading to Arsenal in return for Sanchez.

Manchester United:

De Gea;

Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Young;

Matic, Pogba;

Mata, Lingard, Martial;

Lukaku

Substitutes:

Romero; Rojo, Shaw; Herrera, Fellaini, McTominay; Rashford

Manchester United and Burnley have played 125 times in the history of both clubs; the first match being played on the 10th September 1892 – a 1-1 draw in the old Football League Division One. United have won 59 times, drawn 22 times and lost 44 times.The last defeat for United was on the 19th August 2009, played at Turf Moor, a 1-0 scoreline with Robbie Blake scoring the winning goal for his club. Since that match, there have been six matches played with United undefeated, earning three wins and three draws, last winning at Turf Moor on the 23rd April 2017, a 2-0 victory with Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney scoring the goals.
