Team News: Mkhitaryan, Martial & Rashford start; Willock & Tuanzebe on the bench!

Manchester United go head-to-head with West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford in the Premier League this afternoon. Almost a fortnight ago, United beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside, earning their fifth placed position in the league at this current time. Defeat for Everton away to Liverpool meant that United would remain fifth heading into this match. Europe chasing West Brom sit in eighth place, nine points behind United. Jose Mourinho’s side faces a busy April, this being the first of nine matches throughout the month and should they make it to the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League, the matches will continue in early May, meaning little recovery time for his squad.

Manchester United:

De Gea;

Valencia, Bailly, Rojo, Young;

Carrick, Fellaini;

Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Martial;

Romero; Blind, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe; Willock; Rooney

West Bromwich Albion:

Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Nyom;

Chadli, Fletcher, Gardner, Brunt, McClean;

Myhill, Yacob, Morrison, Rondon, Wilson, Harper, Field

United and the Baggies have a history going back to 1892 with a total of 129 matches being played between the two sides. United have won 55 matches, drawn 31 but have lost 43, which is a pretty close record. West Brom have recently been a team United have struggled against, in the last four season’s there was a 5-5 thriller, three defeats, another draw and United winning three matches in eight matches played since Sir Alex Ferguson’s Premier League goodbye. Hopefully, United will keep all three points in the bag this afternoon, which will be the final suspension for both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera, who will give a much-needed boost ahead of Tuesday’s visit of Everton.
